Tim Hemphill, Milford, IA

Tim Hemphill is a lifelong farmer. For the past 50 years, he has been perfecting the art of growing and selling corn and soybean crops.
Staying in the black is a constant worry for most crop farmers in the current economy. In the small farming town of Milford, Iowa, Tim has experienced the devastating effects a bad harvest can have on the bottom line. Luckily, his farm now yields a new cash crop-wind.
Since leasing a portion of his land to Horizon Energy over three years ago, his business has been financially stable. And while his corn and soybean crops are seasonal, the wind blows year-round, providing Tim steady income throughout the year.
