Tom Carr's Colorado Cattle Company is as authentic a dude ranch as you will find in the west. Carr and his wife Darcy bought the ranch a few years ago after staying at the northern Colorado get away and deciding it was time to kick back and get in touch with the west.
The ranch is the home of horses, cattle, a few cowboys and cowgirls and plenty of wind turbines. "Sure we were concerned about authenticity out here, but not one of our guests, and we have them from around the world, has complained. But we have gotten plenty of compliments," said Tom this winter.
The Carr's continue to operate their ranch with an eye towards protecting the land they live off of. "I'm conservative by nature but it's not about being a Democrat or Republican or Green Party member, we all have a vested interest in protecting our children and our children's children," said Tom.
